Everything you can do

Home

A quiet dashboard: number of own recipes, saved dishes, calories so far and two clear next steps (browse the library or ask the AI Chef). Quick links, no clutter, a getting-started path for new cooks.

Discover (recipe library)

Search 15,000 curated recipes by name or ingredient, filter by cuisine, cooking time and diet, browse seasonal picks. Cards show time, difficulty and calories; open one for the full recipe, save it, send its ingredients to the shopping list or start cooking mode.

My Kitchen (create your own recipes)

Your private cookbook and the place where recipes are created: write them by hand or save an AI Chef idea, add a cropped photo, edit ingredients and steps at any time, then share with the household or the community when you want to.

AI Chef

Type what you have, tap quick suggestions, choose dietary and chef options, then generate a recipe — from leftovers or a video link. Three free generations per day, the quota is shown in the header, and every result can be saved to My Kitchen.

Saved

Library recipes, community posts and personal notes on one private shelf. All saved and Favorites, your own collections for weeknights or guests, search, and a direct jump to the shopping list.

Tracker

Log meals from a recipe, manually or with the barcode scanner. Macros, remaining calories, a seven-day chart, water and weight journals, plus BMR and TDEE in the planner.

Shopping

An offline-first list: add items, tick them off, import recipe ingredients with automatic deduplication, share with the household, see open and done counts. It still works without a connection.

Community

Home cooks sharing real dishes: search recipes, cuisines and chefs, like, rate, comment, add result photos and follow cooks. New and For you feeds, plus report and block for moderation.

Household

One kitchen for several people: invite by code or QR, see who is cooking in real time, share the shopping list, keep a week plan, pantry, tasks and notes.

Creating a recipe (Rezept erstellen)

Every recipe in Spoonful starts in My Kitchen — hand-written or saved from the AI Chef:

  1. Open My Kitchen and tap “+” or “Create your first recipe”.
  2. Enter a title and an optional short description.
  3. Add the ingredients with amount, unit and name.
  4. Add the preparation steps in order, plus cooking time, servings, difficulty and calories.
  5. Add a photo and adjust the crop.
  6. Save the recipe — it is stored privately in My Kitchen.
  7. Edit it whenever you like; ingredients and steps stay structured.
  8. Share it with your household or publish it to the community feed when you are ready.
  9. Send its ingredients to the shopping list or open cooking mode with step timers.

Magnetic UI

In the native Android app the interface follows a real magnet: the magnetometer measures the field, buttons, cards, arrows, dots and the language switcher are pulled toward the magnet with spring physics and snap back elastically when it is removed. Without a magnetometer the same effect follows touch (or the mouse on desktop), and sensor data never leaves the device.
